The
PROJECT

We are "Drop the Act," a collective of circus performers who, back in 2020, envisioned the potential of NFTs and smart contracts as a novel means of transforming our craft. As we contemplated ways to extend our careers and explore innovative avenues, motion capture technology emerged as an exciting prospect.

In 2022, recognizing the alignment of our goals, we made the strategic decision to join forces with the world-renowned circus company “The 7 Fingers” and their technology department: LAB7. This union has empowered us to fully embrace the possibilities of Web 3.0, forging a new path for artistic expression and sustainable income stream for independent artists through cutting-edge technology.

Explore our exclusive collection, where each ticket and digital collectible is secured with NFC technology from our partner Artizyou, ensuring their authenticity and value. These digital art objects represent much more than just access to our event; they are a unique experience in the secure culture of tomorrow.

Capturing the authenticity
of our artists

It all starts in the LAB7 Mocap volume, where artists wearing suits and markers perform their unique movements, carefully crafted and perfected over the years. Using state of the art software like Motive, we transform their moves into a choreography of points and data.

Marrying performing
& digital arts

Through this point cloud, we enhance the artists movement with carefully crafted visuals and create an original piece of digital art using tools such as Blender, Maya and Notch. You can feel the essence of the artist, their soulful performance, transformed into a new medium.

Preserving uniqueness
& Authenticity

By inserting these art pieces into the blockchain, we guarantee their uniqueness and authenticity, and make sure the original artists can broadcast their art directly to fans, supporters, and collectors.

We also offers some of our artist’s moves in their purest form, so you can use them in your own avatar and show them to the world in your own style.

Drop The Act is backed by the visionary team behind The 7 Fingers, who have been
celebrated globally for their groundbreaking performances and artistic collaborations,
including high-profile events like the Olympic Games and Broadway productions.

Our Values

Ownership & Conservation

For a circus artist or a dancer, your art lies in your body and your moves. You train, you create unique moves and routines, you get hired for a show, you perform… and then it’s gone.

With this project, we aim at preserving our artist’s moves and offering them a way to actually own them.

Revenue Stream

Instead of one-shot revenues when performing, with this project artists can earn revenues each and every time their moves are purchased through the blockchain technology. The smart contract opens new avenues for independent artists to monetize heir work.

Reach New Audience

The audience of a show is always determined and limited by the location and capacity of the venue.

By going digital and into the metaverse, artists get to show their art to a much larger audience, which will keep growing day after day.

Powered By LAB7

The Drop The Act project is powered by LAB7, The 7 Fingers’ prototyping lab. LAB7 explores how to adapt cutting-edge technologies to the physical realities and limitations of live performance and contributes to transform the performing arts traditional stage into new, hybrid spaces. Dedicated to prototyping and applied research, LAB7 offers a collaborative approach to develop new artistic languages and to experiment with innovative creative processes.
